Framing Story
The year is 2040, everywhere you look, you are bombarded with fake and distorted media. It’s been that way for years now, there’s no escaping it. The older generations who are less tech savvy are still wandering the streets completely unaware of what is going on. They believe everything they see because it all looks so real and they have no reason to think otherwise. From Deepfakes to satire news outlets, this technology to create such content has been evolving for the past 25 years. With the help of artificial intelligence, and machine learning, the world has become one where everything is questionable, what’s real or fake is indistinguishable. It may be safer to assume that everything one sees is fake but its not a sustainable way of living.
Nothing is being done to help people understand what kind of media is out there and to decipher what’s real and what isn’t. People are beginning to give up and have are complying with everything they see. However, how can you put trust in a government when you don’t know if what they are saying is real or not? The whole world is distorted in a way that makes going about one’s daily life a challenge. Though people are giving in, life shouldn't be this way.
Message
People need to question the content they see because its hard to tell what’s real and what’s fake. Those who are technologically challenged or are unfamiliar with the language are at greatest risk. If one gives into everything they see, it may come back to hurt them. Given a pair of REALity glasses, the user will be able to decipher real and distorted media in real time. There will no longer be a delay between seeing the content and knowing what’s reliable and what isn’t. Thus, users no longer have to do their own research to validate what they see, it’ll already be done for them instantaneously.

What They Are
REALity Glasses captures your environment and analyzes all the content in real time to provide you with information regarding what is true and what isn’t. These glasses can help you identify the fake news and distorted information in this digital media heavy world.
How it Works
The microscopic camera embedded within the glasses takes in data from what you are looking at and compares that data to all the information within a secure database. Within microseconds, that information is returned to you in the form of highlighted boxes. If you are color blind, you can refer to the icons next to the boxes to know whether or not the content is trustworthy.
