Sketchbook: Week 10

The sketch below started out depicting a cup of coffee and someone "drowning" in the coffee to signify drowning in work. Essentially, the drawing was supposed to represent how busy its been and how most days consists of little sleep and coffee in an attempt to stop drowning in work. However, as I began drawing, I felt inclined to turn the cup into a jar and from there, this was created.

This drawing has some resemblance to a pasta sauce jar but has no relation to that. This sketch can be interpreted in many ways. One way is to think about this in terms of social media.

The sketch below is a second attempt at what I set out to do above. This sketch depicts a person trying to escape a beverage (i.e. coffee). The ice cubers are meant to depict all the work that needs to be done. As seen below, this person is working their way up by climbing over the ice cubes (work is being completely and sooner or later, this person will no longer be drowning).
