Idea 1
People in this future are living in a more technology reliant world than we live in now. Kids are growing up with technology from the very beginning and will be consumers from the second they are born. This lifestyle is detrimental to children’s mental health and will only get worse.
Memory loss is inevitable for most, whether it’s something you’ve done years ago or what you ate for breakfast yesterday. Humans struggle to remember events and experiences in their day to day lives let alone those experiences from our childhood. With the integration of technology into our daily lives and not being able to live without it, we are only going to become more and more forgetful.
Message
The message that is sent back is a warning about forgetting our past. Our past experiences help us survive by preventing us from making the same mistakes over again, but our brain capacity is only so big. So, the message here will be on wanting to remember our memories and experiences. This message will be sent in the form of a memory capsule full of a person’s memories of their entire life. From there, those memories can be viewed, and a person can choose which memories they want to download and keep in their mind.
Idea 2
Years from now in a more technologically driven world, humans have improved artificial intelligence to the point where a robot is essentially a replica of yourself and has the capabilities to create what you cannot do yourself. From art to cooking to building, with the help of technology, your dreams can come to life the way you want it. Just think it and it’ll be there, there isn’t a need to put in effort in order to create or change something. The only limitation here is that not everything is actually possible, the main functionality of this is to be able to produce a digital image of your mental image (i.e. a picture, a drawing, concept sketches, etc.).
However, the power and limitations of this technology can easily get out of hand. The extent of this technology is still unknown and like most people say, “with great power comes great responsibility”.
Message
The power of AI and the ability to mind read come together to provide people a way to create without needing to create. Often, a person’s mental image is better than their final output, thus, with technology, that can be changed. Everything becomes a little easier and people can step back into a more carefree lifestyle. The message here is focused on how making our lives easier and what we think better is the downfall of humans. Becoming too reliant on technology and not learning the skills needed to get by without it is where technology goes from being useful to being harmful.
Idea 3
The world has been full of fake news and distorted media for years now and those who do not know or understand that are at a loss. They are often believing whatever they see because it looks and sounds so real. As technology has developed over the years, this technology to fake videos and media has only become easier and harder to differentiate. From AI and machine learning to basic photo editing, people are living in a world where they don’t know what is fake and what is real. It may be safer to just assume that everything one sees is fake and they should just take everything with a grain of salt.
Nothing is being done to help people understand what kind of media is out there and to decipher what’s real and what isn’t. How can you put trust in a government when you don’t know if what they are saying is real or not, the whole world is distorted in a way that makes going about one’s daily life a challenge. Though a majority of the people living in this world have grown accustomed to this way of living, its not sustainable.
Message
People need to fight back on all the fake media that is out there because its hard to say when it’ll come back to hurt you. Even now, there is so much of this going around on the internet and people whom are technologically challenged or do not understand the language well will have difficulties telling what’s real and what isn’t. The message here will be in the form of glasses (similar to the ones Tony Stark gave Peter Parker in Spiderman Far from Home) or contact lenses where they’ll have the technology to tell what is real or not. Where the information comes from will be a complex process, but the goal will be from various reliable sources.
