CPABVID Project Analysis

My project on Hayao Miyazaki depicted what we first set out to create. Though there were some elements that weren’t quite as I pictured, I think the final product had all the major elements that I and my group members wanted to include. For example, objects within the scene flying over the text. When we first storyboarded this, I thought we would include more of that throughout the video but in the end, we only used that to introduce each theme. I think if I were to do this again, I’d have someone do voiceovers for the video so that you don’t have to focus so much on reading the text. Miyazaki’s films have so many beautiful scenes that I think having to look down and read the subtitles takes away from that. Its difficult to appreciate the quality of the scenes when you are trying to read so having a narrator would in my opinion, improve the viewers experience. Looking at our project as a whole, I think we got the ideas we wanted to get across in terms of Miyazaki’s creative process and where his ideas came from.
